Meet Ms. Kathleen

Becoming a children’s librarian is the fulfillment of one of my dreams. I started out as a classroom teacher and later as a special education teacher working with students who struggled with learning disabilities. I decided to become a children’s librarian because I wanted to ignite a love of reading in all students – especially the ones who struggled with reading.    Now that I’m a librarian, I try to stock the library full of titles that will lure reluctant readers into picking up books. Since JSIS is an international school, I also strive to expose children to books that teach about different cultures or share a global world view. Please stop by the library to say hello – or better yet, check out a book and go home and read it!
